OBITUARY
Raymond Dalrymple, born 09/11/1931 in Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away quietly in his sleep Saturday, 9/24/2022 at the grand age of 91.
Raymond was a Korean War Veteran who proudly served in the US Navy. He was a member of the VC-8 squadron and was stationed on the USS Intrepid for a stint. Following honorable discharge, he spent his career as an electrical engineer, manager and problem solver at IBM, Poughkeepsie, NY until 1987. Upon retirement, he traveled with his family, worked on his home, went fishing and enjoyed his favorite pastime, relaxing in the great outdoors and soaking in nature’s beauty. He loved all animals and loved life. He loved to have fun, tell stories and was always there to lend a helping hand. His 6’6” stature and white hair with accompanying beard afforded him numerous rolls playing Santa Claus in local parades. At one point or another, we all thought he might actually be the Real Santa. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Susan (Curlew) and Reginald Dalrymple and his 7 siblings. Raymond is survived by his former wife of 22 years, Barbara NeJame Dalrymple, and their three children; Louis Dalrymple (wife Elizabeth), Todd Dalrymple (wife Nancy) and Andrea Winkelman (husband John), his 6 grandchildren; Jennifer, Michelle, Louis, Amanda, Jessica and Lisa, 4 great-grandchildren; Elliana, Asher, Adeline and Miles and numerous nieces and nephews. All of whom he was very proud. His bright light will surely be missed by all who knew him. Rest peacefully Dad, Ray, Big Binka, Pop Pop, Uncle Ray.
Services will be held privately. Donations in honor of Raymond may be sent to: VA Hudson Valley Health Care System – Montrose.

Ray and my dad were good buddies. When we were little my sister Kathy and I called him Sweet Pea Popeye Raybo - no clue where the name came from. Rest in peace Uncle Ray.
Rest in peace uncle Ray
Many memories of Ray in Staatsburg.
Ray was a good family friend and he was one big funny guy.
I have many fond memories of Uncle Ray in my childhood. When I was little, he would call the house and pretend he was Santa. I enjoyed listening to his many stories. Ray & my dad (Joe Toomey) were very good friends and he was often at the Toomey house. I'm sure the two of them are together again catching up on old times! Sending love & prayers to the Dalrymple family. Rest in peace Uncle Ray...
