OBITUARY
Audrey May Williams, age 93, passed away peacefully at Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on December 26, 2020. Audrey was born on May 2nd, 1927 in Cold Spring, NY, to William and Mary Heady. Audrey attended Haldane High School. During World War II Audrey worked at local Beacon businesses in support of our troops. Audrey married Leonard Williams on April 29, 1949, who pre-deceased her on February 14, 1994. She was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Charlotte Babcock and Ruth Reynolds. Audrey’s interests were sewing, quilting, arts and crafts, bingo, bowling, traveling with seniors, and was a member of the Wappingers Senior Center. She is survived by her sons Philip Williams (Rosemarie) of Hyde Park, NY and Leonard Williams (Jean) of Town of LaGrange, NY, and her daughter Sandra Russell of Town of LaGrange, NY. Also surviving are grandchildren Philip Jr. (Michele) of Poughkeepsie NY, Kelly Cheng (George) of Los Alamitos, CA, and Ashley Russell of Redondo Beach, CA. Her great grandchildren, Spencer, Sebastian, Sawyer, & Silas Williams; Natalie & Henry Cheng; and Maya Audrey Russell. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery. A Memorial and Celebration of Audrey’s Life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Lutheran Care Center for their caring support during Mom’s final days. Donations may be made in Audrey’s memory to the Lutheran Care Center (965 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY) and to the Alzheimers Foundation (322 Eight Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001).
