OBITUARY

Bernard Thomas Lutz, 78, a 42-year resident of the town of Wappingers Falls passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 16th at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.


Tom was born March 22, 1945, in Sayre Pennsylvania to the late Harry B. Lutz and Mary J. Fox of Sayre, PA. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Sherry (Kidd) Lutz formerly of Pheonix, AZ.


Tom joined the Air Force following high school and served in the Vietnam War. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, hiking, golf and spending time with his loving family.


He worked for several railroad companies throughout his career. Starting as an electrician at Lehigh Valley railroad, he then went on to work at Conrail, followed by several years at Metro North, concluding his career working as a safety inspector for the Federal Railroad Administration.


Tom was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lori Anne Demers and grandson Joey Thomas Demers. He was also predeceased by his brother Edward Lutz.

Tom is also survived by his daughter Kimberly Lynne Short and grandchildren Ricky Raymond Demers, Hayley Jane Short, Tabitha Thyme Martorano and his great grandchildren Jackson and Brooklyn.


Arrangements were entrusted to Delehanty Funeral Home, Inc., Wappingers Falls, NY. The family is having a private service.
