OBITUARY

Carol Ann Gunn, 73, of Fishkill, NY, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at Fishkill Nursing Home. Born on July 10, 1951, in Yonkers, New York, Carol was the cherished daughter of Harry Fischer Sr. and Caroline Fischer (Zampini). In 1995, Carol demonstrated her determination and passion for learning by going back to school to receive her GED and certification in early childhood education. Carol’s nurturing spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Carol was a devoted mother to her two beloved children she shared with Michael Gunn, Sr., Heather Wiltshire (Gunn) and Michael Gunn Jr., and her greatest joy was her five grandchildren: Jasmine Gunn, Tyler Gunn, Lola Gunn, Julia Wiltshire, and Mikayla Wiltshire. She treasured every moment spent listening to their stories, playing games, and simply being there for them. Carol also found immense joy in the beauty of nature, whether basking in the sunshine or marveling at thunderstorms. She loved watching the clouds, fish, birds, butterflies, and even the ants. Preceded in death by her parents, Harry Fischer Sr, and Caroline Fischer (Zampini), her brother Harry Fischer Jr., and her sister Sue Joy, Carol is survived by her loving children Heather and Michael, her grandchildren, her two sisters Donna Brewer and Jennifer Pidgeon, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In accordance with Carol's wishes, there will be no services. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish her kindness, warmth, and love for life.
