OBITUARY
A forty-two-year Village of Wappingers Falls resident departed to Heaven on March 28th. Born on 9/11/1960 to Margaret and Lawrence Kelly, Christopher was married to JoAnn Kelly on 12/20/1980. Christopher and JoAnn shared a beautiful love story for Forty-two years to the day. Christopher and JoAnn led a life of love which includes their two greatest accomplishments, their children Christopher Michael and Stephanie Lynn.
Christopher worked for twenty-five years hauling cars for salvage companies, including
supporting 9/11 cleanup efforts and moved on to hauling medical equipment before a six-year cancer battle left him unable to perform these tasks. Christopher was an avid three sport athlete in his varsity days at Arlington HS dominating the football field, wrestling mat and baseball diamond-winning many accolades along the way. What he always cherished the most was time with his family.
Christopher was predeceased by his mother Margaret H. Kelly, and his father-in-law Nino DiGregorio. He is survived at home by his wife JoAnn Kelly, his son Christopher and wife Marcy Kelly, his daughter Stephanie and husband Nathan Robinson, his father Lawrence (Pat) Kelly, his brothers Lawrence (Maureen) Kelly, Kevin (Denise) Kelly, Brian (Linda) Kelly, his sisters Teresa (Robert) Kammerman and Peggy (Glenn) Johnson, mother-in-law Grace DiGregorio, brother-in-law Thomas DiGregorio and his beautiful Grandboys Nicholas, Michael, Andrew and Nolan, many cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Hours to honor Christopher will be held at Delehanty Funeral Home in Wappingers Falls on Sunday 4/3/22 from 3pm-6pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls on Monday 4/4/22 at 11am. Donations can be made in Christopher’s name to Angelman Syndrome Foundation (angelman.org), American Cancer Society, and the 911 Victims Compensation Fund. All who knew and loved Chris are welcome to attend. His legacy will live on with each step of his grandchildren, but his earthly presence will leave a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate to be loved by him.
Delehanty Funeral Home is honored to assist Christopher's family with funeral arrangements.
