Daniel J. Quinn, a longtime Poughkeepsie area resident, passed away on May 6, 2026 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie; at the age of 58. He was born in Brooklyn. NY on May 16, 1967, son of Patricia (Brodnicki) Quinn and the late James Quinn. Grew up in Queens, and after high school he went onto the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in France where he found his passion for culinary arts.
Dan worked in various restaurants and catering halls throughout his life; from Ondine’s in Connecticut, Harold’s in Stormville, NY. He was a chef at Ship Lantern Inn in Milton for many years, and later as a sous chef at Charlotte’s Restaurant and Catering in Millbrook, New York.
Dan was known as a jack-of-all-trades; from culinary and cooking, animal lover he was a dog trainer; he enjoyed leatherworking. He also loved karate, and was a motorcycle enthusiast.
On June 28, 2008 at Bykenhulle House in Hopewell Junction, NY, he married Renee G. Koehler, who survives at home. The love of his life though was his beloved daughter Teaghan Quinn, whom he is also survived by.
Along with his devoted wife Renee, beloved daughter, Teaghan, and his mother Patricia Quinn, Daniel is survived by his brother Peter Quinn and his wife Sophia; his nephew Tommy Quinn, his two nieces Jessica and Alyssa Quinn, and a host of dear friends.
His Family will gather with Friends to celebrate and honor his Life on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 2-6PM at DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York.
