OBITUARY:
The family of Deborah Anne Sylvester (nee Consiglio), 61, is saddened to announce her sudden transition to heaven on July 27, 2026. Debbie was born on July 30, 1964, to Elizabeth (Day) and Louis Consiglio. Debbie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering from Marist College and was proud to work as a chemical engineer at IBM, where she was employed for more than 30 years. Debbie was compassionate and selfless, strong and sharp. Debbie had a remarkable ability to form friendships with everyone, regardless of their circumstance. She never met a stranger. Debbie cherished live music, the garlic festival, camping, hiking, and time spent around a fire with loved ones. She lived in a world of fairy dreams, wizards, hobbits, fantasy and was an avid stargazer. In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by her brothers, Mark and Kevin. She was survived by her daughter Amber Monroe (Kevin), grandchildren Angelo and Lorenzo, brother Ronald, partner Paul, her beloved dog Buddy, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Her Family will gather with Friends on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 4-8 PM at the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 AM on Monday, August 3rd at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, followed by entombment at St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum, 171 Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Debbie was a wonderful, longtime colleague at IBM - both in Fishkill and Poughkeepsie. She cared deeply about her colleagues and was always there to help. We became breast cancer survivor buddies and shared a passion to support Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. Here's a few photos of Debbie and I together supporting Miles of Hope.

my earliest memories of my aunt Debbie are so fond and special and sweet. Debbie was the absolute most sweetest aunt in the world. I remember a time when I was only 3 and I saw a miss piggy pocket book which was so important to me but mom and Debbie couldn’t buy it at that time but she promised to get it for me and she did . I learned a lot from Debbie from the way she cared for her daughter and I promised to try and be a mother like her a few years later.
