OBITUARY
Doreen DeCarlo passed away in Mohegan Lake, New York on 9/29/2021. She was 88 years old.
Doreen was born on January 17, 1933 to Inez Mentrasti and Charles Gobbi in Bronx, NY.
She worked at Central Bookkeeping in Poughkeepsie, New York until she retired.
Doreen's favorite things to do throughout her life included bowling, feeding the outdoor birds and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doreen is survived by her children Susan Silvestri, William Silvestri, Sandra Frye and Christine DeCarlo and their spouses. She is predeceased by her husband John DeCarlo, her brother Charles Gobbi, her son Charles Silvestri, and her daughter Sally Canavan.
Doreen will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Richard, John, Valkyrie, Rebecca, Jessica, Will and their spouses, her numerous great-grandchildren nieces and nephews, her life-long best friend Ann Hess, as well as the rest of her large extended family. Her absence will be felt year-round, but especially during the family's regular large gatherings which will be missing her jokes, stories and warm presence.
The family will be holding a private memorial. In lieu of flowers please donate to Alzheimer's and dementia foundations.

Doreen was always friendly to me and always gave my dog treats.
I have fond memories of you from when I was little and spending quite a few weekends at your house. Wish I could have had a chance to see you again when I became an adult. You will be in my mind one of the few Aunts who I love and respected. Rest in peace.
I knew Doreen for years through her friendship with my late mother, Janet Williams. What a sweet and funny lady! My sincerest condolences to the entire DeCarlo and Silvestri families.
