OBITUARY:
Dr. David V. DiMarco, a life-long resident of Wappingers Falls, NY, died suddenly at his home on August 19, 2026 at the age of 71. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 23, 1955, son of the late Henry A. & Dolores L. DiMarco. He attended St. Mary’s School in Wappingers Falls and graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, class of 1973. He later went on to Union College and the University of Padua in Italy, ultimately graduating from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1981.

David worked as an orthopedic surgeon for almost 40 years and was a founding partner of Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County. After he retired from OADC in 2020, he came out of retirement to treat the Veterans at Castle Point. He was happiest caring for his patients - who called him “Doc” - while his colleagues called him “DVD.” He loved his work.
When he was not treating patients, he was lifting weights, stalking the BMW lot for the newest M5, and adding to his endless tie collection. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures like anchovies and snacking on peanut M&Ms. His favorite activity was spending time with his family, listening and laughing to the same stories repeatedly.
On October 9, 1983 in Orange, NJ, he married the love of his life, Shari M. Gilbert, who survives him at home. Along with his beloved wife, David is survived by his three daughters: Jaimee (Brian), Alexa (Zachary), and Erika; though we can’t forget about his granddog, ‘Shay.’ He is also survived by his four brothers, whom he affectionately referred to as Hank (#I), Larry (#3), Robert (#4), and Gerry (#5), and a host of nieces, nephews, friends & colleagues. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love and unmatched style. Rest Easy – you’ve earned the victory lap.
His Family will receive Friends on Saturday, August 22 from 3:00 -7:00 pm at the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY; where a Prayer Service and Remembrance will be offered at 7:00 pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of his family.

Dr. Dimarco saw me as a patient for my knee years ago and was very kind and knowledgeable. My condolences to his family and friends. My prayers are with him and may he rest in peace.
I am sorry for your loss Dr D was a wonderful Dr to me for over 30 years and multiple surgeries. I will always remember the story of how his wife came up with his M3XTC license plate, told with his characteristic laugh. He will be missed.
Sending my deepest sympathies to DVD’s family 🤍 I had the pleasure working with him at OADC. He was the absolute kindest, funniest, most humbling soul I’ve ever met. He was an amazing doctor but more importantly an incredible human being. One thing I’ll always remember is his big smile. He will truly be missed.
Rest in Peace DVD 🙏🏽🤍🕊️
