OBITUARY
Earl M. Brown (1955-2024) 68 years old from Wappinger’s Falls, New York, passed away on February 22, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Beacon, New York on June 27, 1955 to the Parents of Lewis McKeel Brown and Frieda Blanch Brown (both preceded in death). He graduated from Roy C. Ketcham H.S. by Operation Recognition in June of 2018 by his mentor and friend, Hon. Raymond C. Chase. He worked at a local cemetery as a caretaker for years before starting his fulltime career at New York State Department of Transportation, Bridge Crew Maintenance from 1986 to 2011. He can tell you about every snowplow event and bridge he worked on. He joined the Navy then served in the United States Coast Guard Axillary, honorably retired as of 2023. Earl was known to be a person who was willing to help anyone he can and loved his family with his whole heart. He was overjoyed by becoming a Grandfather to Arianna C. Poet (eldest), Michael D. Poet and Hunter J. DeGeorge. They were his “kids” to anyone who asked about them. Earl is survived by his wife of 38 years, Maria A. DePaolis Brown of Wappinger’s Falls, New York with two children, eldest Daughter Frieda J. Brown Poet (Michael) with two Grandchildren, Arianna C. Poet and Michael D. Poet. Daughter, Christina M. Brown with one Grandchild, Hunter J. DeGeorge. Earl is survived by his sister, Joannie Brown Conklin (Dennis) with 4 Nephews. Brother, Lewie Brown with one Niece and two Nephews. Brother, Henry Brown (Markella) with three Nephew’s and one Niece along with four great Nephews. Wake to be held on Tuesday February 27, 2024 from 4PM-8PM at the Delehanty Funeral Home located at 64 E. Main St., Wappinger’s Falls, NY 12590. Burial service to be held on Wednesday February 28, 2024 at 11am at the Wappinger’s Rural Cemetery located at 174-208 W. Main St., Wappinger’s Falls, New York 12590. Donations to the American Legion, Wappinger’s Falls, Post 427 (7 Spring St.) would be greatly appreciated. He spoke highly of all the members he met and befriended through the years.
