OBITUARY:
Elizabeth Anne Jordan, affectionately known by her family and friends as ‘Liz / Betty’, passed away on August 27, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. She was born to William and Lillian Humphries on May 25, 1947 in Queens, NY.
Elizabeth graduated from John Adams High School and SUNY New Paltz. She worked as an admissions counselor at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY; for over 30 years, where she also taught courses and led countless clubs, organizations, and events over the years.
Liz is survived by her partner, Stephen Wilantewicz (and family) of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughters Wendy Jordan of Wappingers Falls, NY and Holly (Robert) Avella of MD; granddaughters, Avery and Rylie; sister Valerie Heller of Westhampton Beach, NY; and brother Robert (Jocelyn) Humphries of Hopewell Junction, NY; as well as her beloved nieces, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
Her Family will gather and receive Friends on Saturday, September 5th from 1-4pm at the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY; where a Prayer Service will be offered at 3PM. Shared many laughs with Liz during her time at DCC. She was a great co-worker and friend and will be remembered fondly!

I am so sorry to hear this. Liz and I worked together at Dutchess Community College for many years and shared many laughs and good times. She was a dedicated professional and devoted to her and the Wilantewicz families. My condolences to all who knew and loved her.
Hard to believe my dear, life-long friend/cousin is no longer with us. I don’t know how to express how much she meant to me and to all who knew her. I have so many memories of the good times and the laughs we had together. I miss her so much already. My sincere hope is that all who loved her will take comfort in believing she’s in a better place; welcomed and embraced by all the Newfies who left before her.

Feel like I’ve known her my whole life- our mothers were friends and our daughters are friends, and we shared a birthday! So sorry for your loss- she will be missed!! May her soul rest in peace.
