OBITUARY
Eugene L. Farrell, Sr.
Wappingers Falls – Eugene L. Farrell, Sr., 92, passed away on April 24, 2022, at Wingate at Beacon.
Born on March 16, 1930, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of John and Edith (Christmas) Farrell. Eugene graduated from Roosevelt High School. On November 22, 1949, he married Irene E. Close, who predeceased him on June 10, 2017.
Eugene (Pop) was a hard worker and great provider for his family. When he was younger, he enjoyed coaching Pop Warner and worked many years as a Local 38 sheet metal worker until his retirement.
Survivors include: his son, Eugene L. Farrell, Jr. and wife Carol; grandsons, Eugene III, Shawn (Kim), Steven (Jenn), Shane (Liz); great grandsons, Michael, Aidan, Graeson, Lucas, and Jacob; his brother, Francis (Bud) Farrell, brother-in-law, Lawrence Close, sister-in-law, Dot Child; and several nieces and nephews.
Eugene was predeceased by his parents, John and Edith Farrell; his wife, Irene E. Farrell; his son, Steven W. Farrell; and brothers, Robert, Richard, and Roger Farrell.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours, and a private burial.
