OBITUARY
Gail M. Evans, a resident of New Port Richey, FL since 2003, passed away on Friday July 29, 2022 after a short illness. Born on September 23, 1953 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, Gail was the daughter of the late John F. and Madeline (Senk) Evans. Raised in the village of Wappingers Falls, she was a 1971 graduate of Roy C. Ketcham HS and attended Dutchess Community College. While living in Dutchess County, Gail pursued a career in Finance and was involved with several local community theater groups, one of which she served as President. She also enjoyed going to Broadway shows and saw many during that time. She later moved to the Adirondacks and ran a gift shop she owned with her mother in Schroon Lake, NY. Her next move was to Florida where she added a new career working for Pasco County Schools and Lowe's Home Improvement in New Port Richey, retiring in 2014 to spend time maintaining her home and enjoying the company of friends. Gail is survived by her sister Linda (Colin) Hannaford of Sugarloaf Key, FL, brothers Steven (Christina) Evans of Wappingers Falls, and Christopher (Ana) Evans of Raleigh, NC, sister-in-law Robin Evans of Wappingers Falls, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins, Also longtime friend Steve Martinus of St. Petersburg, FL and childhood friend Barbara Fridkis Andujar of Beacon. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother John Evans and grandparents James S. Evans, Mary C.(Bain) Evans, Henry J. Senk, and Hedvig (Peterson) Senk. Gail was passionate about dogs and owned several during her life. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Trevor, and will again meet up with all of her past dogs waiting for her. Gail will be buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, alongside her parents and two baby brothers. A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 3, 2022 at 11AM.
