OBITUARY
Gary Houghtaling, 68, of the Town of LaGrange passed away on May 12, 2021 at home.
He was born in Poughkeepsie on September 25, 1952. The son of Elmond and Corine Houghtaling.
Mr. Houghtaling is retired from the Town of LaGrange Highway Department. Gary had many hobbies that he loved, including woodworking. He operated a sawmill at his house, where he made his own lumber. He loved building things. You would most likely find him on his backhoe helping a friend with a project. The guy everyone would call when they needed a favor.
He leaves behind his wife, Sally Houghtaling of LaGrange; son, Michael of Wappingers; grandson, Chase Houghtaling of Wappingers; sister, Kathleen Colandrea and husband Ronald of Newburgh; sister DonnaMarie Wohlfart and husband Pete of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
