OBITUARY:

Joan E. Laffin was Called Home on February 21, 2026 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie; at the age of 88. She was born and raised in the Village of Wappingers Falls on February 14, 1938, daughter of the late Antonio & Antoinette (Andretta) DiGregorio.



On May 7, 1960 at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls, she married the love of her life John ‘Jack’ Laffin, who predeceased her after 51-years of marriage on February 21, 2012.

Joan was a former active member of the Catholic Daughters of the America (CDA). She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golfing, and time at Cape Cod and the Jersey Shore. She treasured her incredible group of life-long friends and loved spending time with family. Her grace, style, wit and unconditional love will be missed by all who knew her.


Joan is survived by her son, Patrick Laffin and his wife Lynn; her daughter, Dana Rebecca and her husband Craig; her daughter-in-law, Anita Laffin. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Nick (Charmaine), Melissa (Louis), Joshua, Whitney, Simon, Noah, Jacob and Jeffrey (Casey); she also had two great-grandchildren, Owen & Rylee.


Along with her parents and husband, Joan was predeceased by her son Gary Laffin and her twelve brothers & sisters.


Her Family will receive Friends on Wednesday, February 25th from 3-7 PM at the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for her family at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls, New York.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joan’s name can be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 1646, 2660 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

We just came to know the sad news of Joan. We came back from India last Friday after a two-month visit.
