OBITUARY

Joan Patricia Kemp passed away in Wappingers Falls, NY on September 15, 2021, after a well fought battle against illness. She was 85 years old.

Joan was born on March 24, 1936 to Michael and Ellen (Nellie) Fahy in Washington Heights, NY. On July 26, 1975 she married Robert J. Kemp, the love of her life.

She and her husband Bob ran their own business, Johnnie’s Deli, in the Village of Wappingers Falls from 1985 until their retirement in 1997.

Bob was by her side since their first date in 1974, and throughout their loving 46 years of marriage. Joan loved traveling, spending time with family, and shopping.

Joan lovingly raised 6 children: Maureen Reele O’Brien, Paul O’Brien, Joan Foran, Carolyn O’Brien, Michael Kemp, and Robert Kemp Jr.

Joan will be dearly missed by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all her nieces and nephews.

Joan is survived by her husband, Robert Kemp; and predeceased by her son, Michael; her parents, Michael and Nellie; and her siblings, Frank, James, and Elizabeth (Betty) O’Malley.

Joan will be deeply missed by her loved ones. She will live forever in our hearts.

Calling hours will be held at Delehanty Funeral Home in Wappingers Falls on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Clinton St., Wappingers Falls on September 21 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
