OBITUARY

John F. Tulacz, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away peacefully at his home in Wappingers Falls on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with Lewy body dementia. He was born in Poughkeepsie on June 19, 1944, the son of the late John F. and Isabella (Luty) Tulacz. John graduated from Wappingers High School and continued his education at several local colleges, driven by a deep love for learning, especially in the sciences. He worked for over 30 years at IBM in Poughkeepsie as a company buyer, a role he took great pride in until his retirement. John’s passions were as eccentric as his personality. He had a deep love for music, especially the Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley, whom he had the joy of seeing in concert twice. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and supported the Dallas Cowboys since their inaugural season in 1960. He was also a devoted fan of the Hudson Valley Renegades and held season tickets for 25 years. He had a special affection for animals, particularly rhinos, and enjoyed collecting statuettes of them. John leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Janice L. Wynn, whom he married on November 24, 1982, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Orlando, Florida. In addition to his wife, John's memory lives on through his three stepchildren: Dave Fisher, Mike Fisher, and Lori Horak. He was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren: Taylor, Jordan, Camryn, Raegan, Madison, Zachery, Delaney, and Ryan, and a loving great-grandfather to Logan, Bradley, Asher, and Grayson. John deeply treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece Amanda, and nephew Mike, holding each of them close to his heart. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Tulacz, and Michael’s wife, Cindy. Arrangements are under the care of Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY. Interment will be private at the family’s discretion. To share a message of condolence or a favorite memory of John, please visit www.DelehantyFuneral.com
