John J. Seymour, Jr.

1933 - 2026

OBITUARY:

John J. Seymour, Jr., a longtime Wappingers Falls resident, passed away on January 11, 2026; at the age of 92. He was born on January 23, 1933, in Bronx, NY, son of the late John J. Seymour, Sr. and Ethel (Brown) Seymour.

John served in the United States Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge for his service.

On July 20, 1958, in The Bronx, he married Josephine Paciullo, who predeceased him on April 20, 2013, after 54-years of marriage.

John worked for over 30 years as an appliance technician for General Electric in Newburgh, NY; until he retired.

John enjoyed many things in life; he was an outdoorsman, he loved hunting. He enjoyed sports, an avid fan of boxing and the NY Yankees; he enjoyed his casino trips. John had a huge love for bowling; he was proud of the few 300 games he had bowled. He was also proud of his photograph spotlighted on the cover of the Evergreen Review magazine in 1955.

John is survived by his two sons, John J. Seymour III and Robert Seymour. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife Josephine Seymour, John was also predeceased by his beloved daughter Patricia Serna; his one sister and four brothers.

His Family will receive Friends on Monday, January 19th from 3-8PM at the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York, where a Funeral Service will be held 11AM, Tuesday, January 20th followed by entombment to the Community Mausoleum at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, New York.
