Joseph C. Licciardello age 57 passed away at his home in South Salem, NY on Tuesday 12/29/20 after a courageous year battle with ALS. Joe was born February 17 1963 at United Hospital in Port Chester NY.
Joe spent his Childhood years in Port Chester, Byrum, CT and Wappinger Falls, NY. He is survived by his mother Joan (formerly O'Malley) of Wappinger Falls, NY a 1952 graduate of Port Chester Senior High School. His sisters Anne (McNabb) Neshkoro, WI, Cathy (Smith) Highland, NY, and brother Edward Licciardello, Wappinger Falls, NY and numerous other relatives around the Westchester County area. Joe is survived by his great friends John Dorfner, Donald Poole and Dan Tobin and his many co-workers at the S. Salem, NY Post Office. His father Carmine Licciardello and twin brother John Licciardello predeceased him.
Joe spent his entire working life taking care of his customers at the South Salem Post Office. Joe was a kind loving man with never a mean word for anyone.
When not at work Joe was an amateur tennis player winning national awards with his New York Tennis Club. He traveled and participated in tournaments across the United States. Joe was also an active bicycle rider and a 101% supporter of his Giants, Knicks, and Yankees. After his retirement from the Post Office Joe had hoped to put his tennis knowledge to good use helping disadvantaged children learn the sport he loved so much. Sadly ALS had other ideas for Joe.
The family wishes to thank Visiting Angles of Rye, NY and the long term live in care giver Michael who was a godsend for Joe and helped make his final year as comfortable as possible.
