Joseph J. Cservak, Jr.

1942 - 2022

OBITUARY

Joseph John Cservak Jr. passed away peacefully in his home in Wappingers Falls, NY, on February 3rd, 2022, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was 80 years old.

Joseph was born on January 17, 1942, to Joseph J. Cservak Sr. and Cecilia Di Martino in Poughkeepsie, NY. On December 3rd, 1966, he married Barbara Dizillo. From their marriage, children Joseph J. Cservak III (Wendy) and Michael A. Cservak (Tammy) were born. Although their marriage did not continue their friendship remained.

On May 23rd, 1980, Joseph married Nancy R. Doyle. From their marriage, children Brian J. Cservak, Jason P. Cservak and Jolene R. Cservak-Bollen (Eric) were born. While this marriage also dissolved, Joseph remained friends with Nancy as well as her significant other Brad Gaddy.

Joseph attended St. Mary's School in Wappingers Falls, NY and served his country as a Marine. He was a Teamster for Local 445 for many years, working at Montfort Brothers in Fishkill, NY. Later in his career he proudly drove 18 wheelers for his son Michael's company, Cservak Construction and Landscaping Inc., until his retirement.

Joseph was a man of many skills including carpentry, gardening, masonry, and mechanics. He was an avid NASCAR fan, cheering for drivers Dale Earnhardt and later Danica Patrick. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson on quiet Sundays and maintaining his 1964 Chevy Impala convertible. Joseph loved his children very much and loved to 'talk shop,' sports and politics with his sons & anyone else who would listen. Joseph's daughter, Jolene, and her husband Eric, lovingly dedicated their time and care for him for the last 15 years of his life as he suffered with Parkinson’s disease. Mostly, Joseph was known as a man's man, a friend who was always willing to help or offer advice to anyone in need. He truly made an impact on so many.

He was most proud of his five children and grandchildren Joseph J. Cservak IV, Isabella Marquez, Brian Cservak Jr., Kelsey Bollen, and Karly Cservak. Joseph will also be deeply missed by his four siblings: Richard Cservak, Ronald Cservak, John Cservak, and Marie White, their spouses and loved ones, his numerous nieces and nephews, his daughter in law Kim Cservak and the rest of his large extended family. His absence will be felt year-round, but especially during the family's regular large gatherings at the home he built where he made everyone he knew feel welcome.

Joseph was predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Cecilia, and sister Veronica.

Calling hours will be held at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 East Main St., Wappingers Falls on Thursday, February 10 from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Wappingers Falls on Friday, February 11 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
