In Loving Memory

Kevin David Spencer

June 26, 1966 - December 23, 2022

New Hamburg - Kevin Spencer was unexpectedly called home to the Lord on December 23, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by his loving, but devastated family.

Kevin along with three siblings were adopted by the late William and Mary Spencer in Manchester England. The family immigrated to the US via the Queen Elizabeth II in 1972.

Kevin, affectionately known as Bear to all who loved him, was an incredibly brilliant man who lived life on his own terms. He had worked in retail at Newmark and Lewis before finding his true passion as a freelance audio and sound engineer. He was employed for many years at Altel Systems, in Brewster, NY as a sound engineer. He did audio and sound for many shows over the years most notably Tony Bennett’s NYC shows and at Orange County Choppers. He was frequently found doing audio and sound at The Chance Theater, in Poughkeepsie and The Keltic House, in Fishkill, NY. Kevin worked many charity shows for Veterans and other various organizations. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman who loved being on his boat, out camping and driving his motorcycle.

He passionately loved his wife Gloria, his dogs and family. Kevin was stubborn, and difficult at times, but he had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. He had a contagious smile, a larger than life personality and loved telling jokes. His passing leaves a huge void in all our lives. He will be incredibly missed and we all have to try and figure out how to continue on without him.

Kevin was predeceased by his beloved parents, Mary Bridget and William Spencer, by his dear brother, Christopher Declan, and his cherished dog, Rascal. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gloria Patterson, his beloved dog, Scamp, sisters’ Ann Marie (Dan) Daum, MaryLu McLoughlin, sister in law Susan McGivney, nieces and nephews Amanda, Christopher, and Jennifer Daum and Dustin Jr and Tyler Folkes. He is also survived by his father and mother in law, Charles and Ruth Patterson.
