3/15/1953 - 12/23/2020

Wappinger Falls, N.Y. – Kevin Herlihy, 67, a long-time resident of Wappinger Falls, previously from Riverdale in the Bronx, passed quietly at home in the early morning hours of December 23rd surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 15, 1953, Kevin is the son of the late John (Catherine) Herlihy. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret Leggiero and brothers Thomas and Brian Herlihy, also from Riverdale in the Bronx.

Kevin was a devoted husband and family man. Most would describe him as selfless. Always putting others before himself. His mission in life was to make his family and those around him happy. And that he did! He thrived on caring for and playing with his adoring grandchildren. He enjoyed talking about sports, politics and history with his children, neighbors and honestly anyone who would listen. He loved his summer days at the lake with all the kids or a good ol fashioned backyard barbeque. Kevin was also a die-hard Yankees fan and loved going to the games any chance he got. Kevin was a long-time employee of Gap Inc., in Fishkill, N.Y. He was a well-respected boss, genuinely liked by all.

Kevin is survived by his dearest friend, loving and devoted wife Linda Herlihy, of Wappinger Falls. His brother Jack (Eileen) Herlihy of Riverdale. His adoring children Jeremy (Michelle) Herlihy, and their children Ryan, Regan and Riley of St. Augustine, FL; Season Herlihy and her companion Lee Rosenblum, and their children Matthew and Branden; Siobhan Herlihy and her companion Tye Pettengill, and their children Brianna and Kelcie; Shannon Herlihy; and his stepchildren Kevin Irish Jr. and Kristi Irish. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. We will all love and cherish the memories made and shared with Kevin. The world lost an incredibly beautiful soul this holiday season.

As per COVID-19 regulations we, his family, have decided to put off a celebration of life. He has been cremated, as per, his last wishes and we still have no date set. When the time is right, the people Kevin cared about most will be contacted to come join us to celebrate what a wonderful person we all knew and grew to love.

Arrangements entrusted to Delehanty Funeral Home, Inc.

I hadn't see this prior to today. It is a most beautiful tribute to a most loving and caring man. I miss you so very much! Even though our times together after our childhood were less often I always thought about you. Rest in Peace my cousin!!!!!
