OBITUARY
Hopewell Junction - Lois M Stangel, 77, a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, NY, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Vassar Hospital due to complications from COVID-19. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Dorothy (Hoyt) Smith. In June 1967, she married Robert F. Stangel who predeceased her in 1996. Lois is survived by her children and their spouses, Christopher and Christine (Roberto) Stangel of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Matthew and Christine (Gironda) Stangel of Poughkeepsie, NY; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Madison, Mackenzie, and Robert Stangel; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Russell J. and Judith H. Smith. Calling hours will be held at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 on Thursday, February 4th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 5th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 at 10 a.m. Masks will be required, and proper COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed.
