OBITUARY
Louise Cafaro, 98, formerly of Wappingers Falls, passed away holding the hands of her loving family on Tuesday February 28, 2023 at Taconic of Ulster. She ascended into Heaven just 18 minutes shy of turning 99.
She was born in Wappingers Falls on March 1, 1924 to Saverio and Mary Gaeta Innuzzio. On May 8, 1949 she married Joseph Cafaro who passed away on January 31, 1986. Mrs. Cafaro was formerly employed at Kemp and Beatley as a seamstress alongside her sister Florence DiDomizio who predeceased her on July 11, 2019.
For all who knew her, she was a devout Catholic who’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Mema.
She leaves behind a daughter, Linda (John) McElrath of Milton, daughter Joann (Joseph)
Wojnar of Horseheads, and son Gerard (Kathy) Cafaro of Wappingers Falls. Grandchildren Tara Longo of Newburgh, John (April) McElrath of Marlboro, Jennifer Wojnar of Los Angeles, Michelle (Gary) Broadhurst of Penn Yan, Allison Wojnar of Horseheads, Joe and Noelle Cafaro of Wappingers Falls and Great Grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Christopher Longo, John and Ava McElrath, and Gary (Mikey) Broadhurst III. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 East Main St, Wappingers Falls on Sunday March 5th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday March 6th at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church 11 Clinton St., with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
