1970 - 2024

OBITUARY

Michael J. Stickert, 53 of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 2, 2024.

Born in the Bronx, NY on November 18, 1970, he was the son of Robert J. and Christina M. Stickert (both predeceased).

Since his early teens, Michael has lived in and around Wappingers Falls, NY up until his passing. He attended Wappingers schools and was a multi-talented tradesman in the field of construction for several years.

Michael is survived by his 3 daughters, Makayla, Shauna and Christina, brother Robert Stickert (Jacqui), sister Christina O’Dell, nephews Christopher Stickert, Michael, Frank and Raymond O’Dell as well as several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and dear friends who he considered family.

Mike was a true, polymathic artist. Creating masterpieces with nearly everything his hands touched. His trade expertise included tiling, sheetrock and taping but when it came to renovation there was nothing he couldn’t do. He has created paintings, murals, carvings, drawings and calligraphy art.

Mike’s love for music enabled him to instruct himself on at least 13 different stringed instruments in multiple genres. He loved writing songs and jamming with his friends as often as he could.

His creative abilities were paralleled only by his sense of humor. He loved to laugh and to make people laugh. A truly unique, kind and loyal person. Mike was so loved and will be sorely missed.

Roy - an extension of my family! Growing up on Bruner Ave, was the best childhood experience I could have asked for. Carol is my best-friend, Alice was Roys and Ady was Tommy's. We were not neighbors we were a family! All of my memories make me laugh but the funniest was when he was practicing for cosmetology, he used Carol and I as Guinea Pigs - the funniest time was when he relaxed my hair because it is very Curley and he burned my baby hairs - He laughed so hard, I swear I can hear his laughter thinking of it! Imagine going home and explaining to your mom why you no longer have baby hair but all …
