Patricia A. Van Zandt
1950 - 2026

OBITUARY:
Patricia A. Van Zandt, 76, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on September 12, 2026, with the love of her life at her side. Born on March 30, 1950, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Hughes) Antonelli.
Patricia was raised in Wappingers Falls, NY, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and kindness toward others. A devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wappingers Falls, her faith remained a steady source of strength throughout her life. In July 2025, she and her husband, Wayne, moved to Cape Coral to enjoy their retirement years together in warmth and sunshine.
Patricia found deep fulfillment in her work as a bus monitor assisting children with special needs. She often spoke of how meaningful it was to support the children in her care. Her patience, compassion, and gentle encouragement touched the lives of the children and families she served. She also spent many years as a Dental Assistant to Dr, Frederick Ninnis, DDS, where she came to know and care about numerous patients and their families.
Family was the heart of Patricia's life. She treasured holidays, family barbecues, and every opportunity to bring the people she loved together. Christmas was especially dear to her, not only as her favorite time of year, but also as a season filled with tradition, laughter, and the warmth of family. The memories she created during those times will remain a lasting gift to those who knew and loved her.
Patricia will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her caring spirit, and the quiet ways she made others feel supported and loved. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and was so proud of, and in the many lives she touched through her kindness and service.
She is survived by Wayne Van Zandt, her loving husband of 53 years; her children, Scott Van Zandt and his wife, Amy, of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Tom Van Zandt and his wife, Jaime, of Cape Coral, FL; her siblings, Marie Pilon of Wappingers Falls, Louis Antonelli and his wife, Debra, of San Diego, CA, and Lorraine Antonelli and her husband, Jim Lillis, of Poughkeepsie, New York; her cherished grandchildren, Camryn Cobb and her husband, Jeison, Caleb, Raegan, and Rylee; an eagerly anticipated great-grandchild, Jaxon Cobb; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Antonelli, her sister, Mary-Lou Antonelli, as well as her cherished brother-in-law Richard Pilon.
