OBITUARY:

Patricia “Patty” Perusse, 91 of New Hamburg, NY, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2025. Patty was a lifelong resident of New Hamburg, where she raised her children and spent countless hours with her grandchildren. She was employed by Wappingers Central School District for the majority of her career, most notably in the main office at Sheafe Road Elementary School. Patty was an avid reader, often staying up until the early morning to finish a book. She enjoyed cooking for her family, passing down many recipes to her grandchildren, including her famous sauce. Patty loved to bake, and always had something sweet around for her family to munch on. She hosted many holidays for her family, making the process look easy. Patty was a parishioner of St. Mary’s in Wappingers Falls, and at one time taught religion in the evening to Kindergarteners. She was a devout Catholic, and continued to say the rosary every day until the end. Patty loved the beach, and would get up before dawn to walk to beaches of the Jersey Shore. She and her grandchildren would look for shells in the morning, and she would display the shells in her home garden after vacation. Her family has so many memories to look back on from their time at the shore with Patty. Patty is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Josephine (Camelio) Becker, her husband of nearly 60 years, John “Jack” Perusse and her daughter, Lynn Blood. She is survived by her daughter, Rondi and son-in-law Ed Ludwig, grandchildren Evan Blood, Amanda Ludwig and partner Scott Waters, Brook Colarusso and husband Chris, Gabrielle Ludwig and Eric Blood. Patty was blessed with her great grandchildren, Kaden Blood and Sienna Waters. She is also survived by her brother Edward Becker and his wife AnneMarie, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Patty’s family would like to thank Hudson Valley Hospice for their care, kindness and compassion in her last weeks. As per the family’s wishes, there will be no service. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for memorial donations to be made in Patty’s memory to the, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
