OBITUARY:

Paul L. Welsh, affectionately known as 'Gulsh', passed away at his home in Staatsburg, NY on January 8, 2026; at the age of 66, after a long and trying battle with multiple illnesses.


He was born in Schenectady, NY and raised in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Edward H. & Dorothy Mae (Smith) Welsh.


Paul was a skilled carpenter; he could build anything. He worked in freight trucking for the Long Shoreman's Union in Ridgefield, New Jersey.


'Gulsh', as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, loved his New York Sports teams, and was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan. He also loved muscle cars, and collecting and listening to various types of music. He loved his family dearly, especially his sons and following their activities and sports.


Paul is survived by his two sons, Paul T. Welsh and Jonathon T. Welsh; their mother, Romona Burger, who was also his companion of twenty-five years. He is also survived by his brother and sister Jay R. Welsh and Cindy Gregorio; his half-brother Edward 'Mickey' Welsh. As well as, his nieces and nephews: Samantha Gregorio, Nadine Gregorio, Mark Welsh, Kenny Welsh and Corey Mullen; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Chelsea Scianna, Corey and Dominick Mullen.


Along with his parents, Paul was predeceased by his step-son Ryan Burger; his nephew 'JJ' Welsh; his half-sister Maryanne Berliner. As well as, his two beloved dogs Brady and Dex.


His Family will receive Friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1-5PM at the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York, where a prayer service will be offered. A Spring Burial will be held at a later date in the Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery, West Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York.

Paul Jon and Ramona ,Cindy and Jay . I am so sorry for your loss. I am incredibly humbled and honored to be included in Paul's memorial. Your Dad was a such an important part of my life . The night we met and reunited was one of the best nights of my life . Your Dad and I told each other we loved each other and what we meant to each other . I will always have our memories we shared . Ramona, Paulie Jr and Jon it's been years since I've seen you all, but my heart is heavy on hearing of Paul's passing. I'm so very sorry. I'm praying that God see's you through this difficult time and uplifts you through the pain.
