OBITUARY:

Ruben Rivera Jr., a longtime resident of Goshen, NY, passed away suddenly on November 10, 2025 at the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh; at the age of 55. He was born on September 23, 1970 in The Bronx, NY, son of Ruben Rivera Ortiz and Alice D. Rivera. Ruben graduated from Adlai E. Stevenson High School, class of 1988.


Ruben worked for over 2 years as an installer for the A-John, portable toilet company in Walden, NY, until his disability.


He enjoyed technology and toying with gadgets; he loved playing video games. He was an avid NY Mets fans; he used to love playing sports when he was younger. He had a faithful-companion, his dog Rosie, whom he loved dearly. Most of all he loved spending time with his family & friends.


Along with his beloved parents, Ruben is survived by his sister and three brothers: Abigail Rivera, Gamaliel Rivera, Neftali Rivera and Lawrence Rivera. He is also survived by four nieces, three nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.


His Family will receive Friends on Saturday, November 15th from 3-7PM at the DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. I still can't believe that Junior is no longer with us. But he is waiting for the day Jehovah God call him back. I am so heart broken for him and his family, especially his mother Alive who has been with him, taking care of him during some really hard times.


The last time he came to visit he made me laugh so much. I had just walked in and out of no where he said, "who let the stray in" it took me a second to realize he was talking about me, and we bursted out laughing. He was always in such a great mood when he visited. I will never forget him. And I look forward to being…
