OBITUARY

Sally Canavan passed away at her home in Poughkeepsie, NY on August 16, 2021, after a well-fought battle against cancer... She was 61 years old.

Sally was born on March 13, 1960 to Doreen DeCarlo in Poughkeepsie, NY. On April 22, 1989, she married James “Jim” Canavan, the love of her life.

She worked at Pizza Hut in Poughkeepsie from 1994 until retiring in 2019. She was a proud member of The Yacht Club for many years.

Her husband, Jim, was by her side since their first date in 1977 until his passing in 2013. Sally loved spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren.

Jim & Sally lovingly raised their only child, Jessica, in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mom will be dearly missed by her daughter, Jessica, and grandchildren James and Samuel.

Sally is survived by her daughter Jessica Canavan and predeceased by her husband Jim Canavan.

Sally will be deeply missed by her mother Doreen, her twin sister Sandra Frye, and her siblings, Sue Silvestri, William Silvestri, Charlie Silvestri, Christine DeCarlo, as well as their spouses and loved ones. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and the rest of her large extended family.

Calling hours will be held at Delehanty Funeral Home in Wappingers Falls on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 4-8PM.

Mass and burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls on Monday August 23, 2021, at 10AM.
