OBITUARY
Shirley M. Pressler of Wappingers Falls died on February 23, 2022, at home in the early morning at age 80.
Shirley was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 20, 1942, to Georgiana and John Lucas. She married Michael Pressler in December 1959, and moved to Germany for two years, where her husband served in the US Army, and where Angela, her first child was born. From there she moved to Carmel, NY in 1965 with Michael, who was newly employed by IBM, East Fishkill.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael, and was the mother of six: Angela Diamanti of Wake Forest, NC; Michelle Borchert of Bloomsburg, PA; Michael Pressler, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, NY; Pamala Gray of Warrington, VA; David Pressler of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Mark Pressler, by whom she was predeceased. She was grandmother of 10, and great-grandmother of 4, all of whom she loved dearly.
Shirley retired from Stop & Shop and Topps supermarkets in Wappingers Falls, NY where she made many good friends among both coworkers and customers.
She was an enthusiastic league bowler for many years, and member of the choir at St. Mary’s Church in Fishkill, and a member of the St. Mary’s Players Theatre Group in the late 1970s and early ‘80s.
Shirley personified those qualities that make a person attractive: she was open to and accepting of others, and kind, with a genuine interest in everyone she met. She will be missed by all who knew her, even if only her laughter and beautiful smile.
A memorial service will be held at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 East Main St., Wappingers Falls on Saturday, March 5, from 12:00-1:00 PM.
Delehanty Funeral Home is honored to assist Shirley’s family with arrangements.

I love you, with all my heart, you are my best friend and I'll miss you terribly - you are with the Lord now. I will take comfort in that. I'll see you again and we will live for eternity, love your daughter Pamela
Our heart is broken. We send our love and prayers to the family. We have wonderful memories of her sweetness to our family and our girls. They loved running to her when we would go grocery shopping at Stop N Shop. She would shower them with hugs and kisses and give them a little treat. She will be missed greatly.
Angel and I are deeply sadden Shirley's passing. She was a lovely and up beat person
Condolences to the family.
