OBITUARY
On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, our beloved sister, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother Theresa G. Polli entered into eternal rest.
Born on February 18, 1937 to Severino & Teresa Zanotti, Theresa was raised and educated in Manhattan, NY. On May 22, 1954, she married the love of her life Dario Polli, raising three children, Anna, Steve, and Louise. Theresa treasured her role as a mother, and later as a doting grandmother & great-grandmother.
Aside from finding great joy in her family, Theresa was a faithful servant of God, a devout Roman Catholic and a member of the Third Order of Franciscans. Most recently she was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers. Theresa could be found attending daily Mass, volunteering at church-sponsored functions, leading the rosary for fellow parishioners and the community, and praying for the lives of the unborn. Theresa was an avid singer and participated in multiple church choirs throughout her lifetime, including at Mt. Alvernia.
Theresa is survived by her brother, Henry Zanotti, as well as her son and daughters, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a multitude of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Dario Polli with whom she is now reunited.
“Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4). Although Theresa will be sorely missed, her earthly brothers and sisters can take solace in knowing that she has joined her rightful place in Heaven with the Lord.

I do not know how to say what I feel, so I will say it as best as I can. Nonnie was always one of the nicest people you could meet. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone, and was quite possibly the most devoted catholic you could meet, excluding maybe the pope. The last time I saw her, she was doing what she loved best: Worshiping. She had the most unique voice, and I would give Anything to hear it again. Rest In Peace Nonnie, you're an angel now
Cari cugini,
inviamo le nostre più sentite condoglianze a tutti voi da parte della nostra famiglia. Diremo una preghiera per la zia Theresa. Con affetto,
Nadia, Diego, Daniel, Marta e Emma Fellin.
Teresa will surely be missed. She very much wanted to youth to embrace the Catholic Church and turn to God in troubled times. She hoped to draw the youth to Church through the inspiration that Saint Carlos Acutis had for the Eucharistic miracles, and she often spoke of them. To educate the youth about Carlos Acutis, she made a pamphlet for her Church to display for the youth to learn about Saint Carlos. She followed that with a pamphlet of the apparitions of Mother Mary. Theresa had a sense of humor and cared about others. May my friend she rest in peace
My condolences to the family and all who loved her. Though I can't make it to the funeral, I am with the family in mourning for my Aunt Theresa. She was a beautiful person. I always felt like she respected me when I was a kid, which is a rare thing. Often, adults ignore children, or just tolerate them. Aunt Theresa actually cared about what I thought, was truly interested, and actually saw me whenever we got together. She had a way of looking you in the eye and sizing you up in a gentle loving way, usually ending with her tremendous unique laugh. She will be missed by all. Instead of sending flowers, I made a donation to Carenet.…
