OBITUARY:

Theresa Morgan, a life long Village of Wappingers Falls resident, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026; at the age of 100. She was born at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY on January 17, 1926, daughter of the late Santo and Marianna (Brescia) Ruggiero.


Theresa grew up in the City Of Poughkeepsie where her father had a floral business with two greenhouses.


Theresa was awarded a scholarship to the Colorado Springs Art Academy, where she pursued her passion in art, and while out west she met the love of her life, Cecil Morgan. On September 10, 1946 in New Mexico, she married Cecil, who predeceased her on December 11, 1976 after 30-years of marriage.


Theresa and Cecil moved back to New York, and opened a flower shop in the Village of Wappingers Falls in 1949, which the family has continued to this day.


Theresa was an accomplished artist, and floral designer. She was an avid cat lover. Having adopted and saved scores of cats. She brought much happiness to this world through flowers and art.


Theresa is survived by her son, Stephen Morgan and his partner JoAnn Sifo; her daughter, Rosemary La Susa and her husband Ronald. She is also survived by her two grandsons Jay Canez and Jacob Morgan; her three great-grandchildren, Michael Kenney, Jack and Matthew Canez; and several nieces, nephews and friends.


Along with her husband and parents, Theresa was predeceased by a granddaughter Theresa Rose Kenney in 2007. She is also predeceased by her two brothers Samuel and John Ruggiero.


Her Family will receive Friends on Tuesday, April 28 th from 4-8PM at DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME, 64 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10am, Wednesday, April 29 th at St. Mary Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, followed by interment in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.

Your Mom Lived A Full Life 100 Yrs Young..Her Beautiful Paintings And Bringing Joy To All Those That Received Beautiful Flower Arrangements..
