Thomas B. Liguori

1932 - 2026

OBITUARY:

Thomas B. Liguori, a longtime resident of Wappingers Falls, NY and Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026 in Boynton Beach, FL at the age of 94. He was born on April 17, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Gaetano (Tom) and Erika (née Fuchs) Liguori. He attended Brooklyn Tech High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brooklyn College and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The City University of New York.

On October 28, 1951 at St Barbara’s Church in Brooklyn, he married the love of his life, Anita Scirica.

Tom served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He was in Army intelligence, the predecessor of the National Security Administration (NSA), at the Pentagon and at Fort Meade, Maryland, receiving an honorable discharge for his service.

Tom worked as an industrial engineer for 27 years at IBM Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1990. Notably, he was on the design team for the first ever IBM semiconductor manufacturing line.

Retirement provided him and Anita the opportunity to spend their winters in Florida where he especially enjoyed church activities and playing tennis with friends well into his 90’s and avoiding all things winter!

He was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls, NY where he was a lector, an RCIA team member, and also proudly sang in the choir. Tom and Anita were longtime Pre- Marriage Encounter counselors as well.

He was a Life Member and the oldest living Past Grand Knight of the Wappingers Council 1646 Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed being active with his Brother Knights in all their works of charity. Tom was also a member of the Fourth Degree, Wappingers Assembly 770.

Tom had many hobbies. He was an avid Brooklyn Dodger and then a New York Mets fan. He was thrilled to be honored as the “Veteran of the Game” at a Mets game at Citifield in 2023. Music was another great passion in his life, spending his leisure time listening to his stereo and attending numerous concerts. In addition to tennis Tom also enjoyed playing handball. Tom and Anita enjoyed traveling extensively. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his beloved wife Anita of almost 75 years of marriage, Tom is survived by his children: Pamela, Stephen and his wife Susan, Gregg and his wife Michele and

Christopher and his partner Inna. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren:

Aaron, Christine, Patricia, Matthew, Andrea, Rachel, Erika, and Alexa as well his great grandchildren Nathan and Natalie.

Along with his beloved parents he was predeceased by his brother Ronald Liguori.

His family will gather to honor his life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 11:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, New York followed by interment in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery with military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, Tom’s family is respectfully requesting that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America.
