OBITUARY
Thomas W. Paonessa, 88, a life long resident of the Village of Wappingers Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Thomas was born on July 28, 1935 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Frank Paonessa and Mary Lizzi of Wappingers Falls, NY. He was married to the late Edith (DiMarco) Paonessa on August 23, 1959 at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls, NY.
Thomas was a life long member of S.W. Johnson Engine Co. #2 and fire police. He worked at Tilcon (New York Trap Rock) in which he retired from. Thomas enjoyed working in his yard and workshop and also hunting. He also enjoyed sitting outside and feeding his pet squirrel peanuts.
Thomas was predeceased by his beloved son, Anthony "Tony" Paonessa and his beloved granddaughter, Gianna Victoria Paonessa. He is also predeceased by his brothers Dominic, Frank, Jimmy, Johnny and Joseph. His sisters Mary, Anna, Theresa, Rosie and Philomena (Fanny).
Thomas is survived by his children Lisa (Tommy) Marcojohn, Renee Fusaro, Thomas (Christina) Paonessa, and Mary (Jason Enson) Paonessa. His grandchildren Tommy, Samantha, Hayley, Giancarlo, Vanessa and Jason Jr. He is also survived by his brother Anthony Paonessa who resides in Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 13, 2023, 3:00pm-8:00pm at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Tom was a great friend and knew how to drive that 1952 Mack pumper. I rode the back step to many fire calls and he could handle any call. To Tom and family my sincere condolences - - may he rest in peace !
