OBITUARY:

Wayne J. Wieber, 86, passed away on September 21, 2026, at the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare Medical Center – Castle Point Campus in Wappingers Falls, NY, where he received exceptional care.

Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a 50-year life member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15. He also studied architecture and built a distinguished career working on major infrastructure projects throughout the region. Among his many accomplishments, he assisted in the construction of the foundations of the World Trade Towers, contributed to the rebuilding project of the Lincoln Tunnel, and later assisted with cleanup efforts at Ground Zero.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara E. Schenecker and the devoted father of Barbara “Bunnie” Phillips (Robert) of Red Bank, NJ; Tamara Ebner-Pierce (Mark) of Toms River, NJ; Dawn Worthley (Richard) of New Castle, DE; and Amelia Wieber of Frederick, Colorado.

Wayne was the grandfather of Danielle Ebner and Rachel Ebner of Eatontown, NJ; Nicole Worthley-Hall (Christopher) of Milford, DE; Allyson Paris (Joseph) of Newark, DE; and Kimberly Leftwich of Red Bank, NJ. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Faith Hart and Sage Covert, both of Eatontown, NJ. Beloved brother to Donald Wieber of East Islip, NY, and was known affectionately as “Uncle Wayne” to his many dedicated nieces and nephews.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Pauline; his siblings, Andrew, Barbara, Arlene, George, and Patricia; and his beloved daughter, Kim Marie.

Wayne’s Family will gather to honor and celebrate his life on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with a committal prayer and interment service at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey; where Military honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.
